Reviews by Ann Owen, Ruth Sabrosa and Rosalind Howard

The wooden flower press is made with sustainable and recyclable wood, and we love the fact that the company, Tender Leaf, plants back 100% of the trees they use. It is suitable for children of all ages, easy to use, and provides hours of fun for those who love to create. We particularly liked the size of this flower press as we were able to collect larger flowers and leaves and all three children were able to fit their collections inside.
We enjoyed revealing our pressed finds and making beautiful collages and cards as well as learning about the different plants. We have decided to press some herbs and edible plants next to make a fact file and identification guide. The press is easy to store and will have a lot of use in our home. RS

CircleTales: Adventure Storytelling Game
What an incredible game this is! My daughter is only 6 and with storytelling being out of her comfort zone, I was hoping that this game might help her; I was right! As we created a story together, she was completely engaged, and the game sparked the most incredible moments between us, connecting with each other in a way we hadn’t before, and with so much laughter! It was the first time she’s ever embraced storytelling and I loved seeing her imagination come to life. This is a great collaborative game and the perfect resource for home educators with reluctant storytellers. It has become my new favourite resource in our home education journey. AO

The Peas and Pod activity box was a lovely selection of seasonal child-led activities that were a great way to explore a carefully selected theme. Our box’s theme was bees and my 3-year-old niece delighted in playing with the beads provided, and enjoyed creating and painting the cardboard cutout bee. She also loved learning about all the different species of bees and this led us on to a bee hunt around the garden searching for the different varieties she’d learnt about from the beautifully designed and informative cards included. The Montessori and Steiner inspired activities in the box are all simple to follow, require very few extra materials, and are a great starting point to encourage a child-led learning experience. RH
